Junkanoo Georgetown, Bahamas
I went to Junkanoo in the Bahamas. There was a new year’s celebration, carnival, and parade. We dinghied over to Georgetown on “dinky Pete” (which is our dinghy named after our Uncle Pete).
First, we found a guy that was grilling delicious ribs. So we bought a family plate of ribs, chicken, mac n cheese, and corn. They were the BEST ribs ever!
At the carnival, there were lots of friends to meet and we played tag! I was super fast! We had to wait a long time for the parade. Harbor got super tired. We stood along the town wall to wait for the parade. We waited so long that Mom and Dad talked to some new friends for hours. But we bought some peanuts from a nice local guy to keep us busy while we waited.
Junkanoo had fun floats and costumes with lots of dancing and super loud music, it was a super fun night. During the parade, Harbor covered his ears and got super tired, he actually passed out on mom and then dad held him and he had to be carried back to the dinghy once the parade was over.
On the way back to the boat I collected a feather from one of the dancers, it was purple with a tiny red feather on the top.
